About Us

Our company is certified and registered as a woman-owned small business/economically disadvantaged woman small business (WOSB/EDWOSB), small disadvantaged and emerging small business by the US Government. Established in 2002 as an S Corporation by Virginia Hoffman, GEG provides the following four core business lines:

  • 1 Marine engineering including vessel operations, maintenance, and repair.
  • 2 Submarine Telecommunications installation (fiber optic and power cable) including terrestrial, shallow water, and main cable lay/shore end installation operations.
  • 3 Environmental Engineering.
  • 4 Alternative Energy Engineering (Including Wind Farms)

Program and Project Management

We have experience in managing different maritime projects for DoD agencies and global commercial customers. Our company also handles project management of geophysical and geotechnical survey work, from the beach to the full ocean depth with both shipboard and office-based support. This includes production of burial feasibility and risk assessment reports.

Engineering Support

Our company provides cable engineering support including owner’s representation, remediation, repair, and installation services for global submarine fiber optic cable systems. We are also efficient with maintenance and emergency response for terrestrial and submarine cable systems.

Environmental-Related Services

We have handled the development of cost and technical feasibility studies for various special projects. These include site visits, desktop studies, and geophysical analysis.
