Great Eastern Group’s Pacific Division was awarded a $3.1 million Project by Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center

Great Eastern Group’s Pacific Division was awarded a $3.1 million project by Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center on May 12, 2010.  This is a competitive Task Order Award for the fabrication and installation of a Port Security Barrier at Naval Air Station, North Island, California consisting of 166 PSB-T barrier modules and eight 12-foot diameter mooring buoys along with spares. Great Eastern Group will provide detail design services for the PSB-T barrier components, all materials, material procurement, fabrication, shipping, staging, installation equipment, installation labor, and overall project management.  In addition, the existing Dunlop Anti-Boat Barrier System will be removed, cleaned, packed, and shipped to the navy’s maintenance depot operated by PCCI, Inc.The existing barrier, installed in 2007, will be replaced with the low-cost PSB-T model.  These newer 4-foot modules were chosen for their high boat stopping capability, transparent net area for security surveillance, and environmentally friendly characteristics. Great Eastern will be supported by its partners: Adept Process Services, Inc., National City, CA and PCCI, Inc., Alexandria, VA for the installation and removal efforts.  Major component fabrication will be performed by CNC Machine and Fabrication, Inc., Hyde Park, Utah; along with Ferguson Industrial Plastics, Inc., Washougal, WA; West Coast Netting, Kingman, AZ; and Marine Fenders International, Wilmington, CA.


Great Eastern Group Awarded Multi-year US Naval Facilities Support Contract

Great Eastern Group, Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida is one of 5 companies being awarded a firm fixed price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-
quantity multiple award contract in support of the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center, Port Hueneme, for installation, inspection, repair, maintenance, and field supervision/operation of waterfront barriers, associated moorings, waterfront security systems and marine repair facilities throughout the world. The
maximum dollar value including the base period and four options years, for all five contracts combined is $80,000,000. Work will be performed at various Navy and Marine Corps facilities and other government facilitates worldwide, and is expected to be completed February 2015. Contract funds will expire at the end
of the current fiscal year. These contracts were competitively procured as a 100 percent small business 8(a) set-aside via the Navy Electronic Commerce
Online Web site, with six proposals received. These five contractors may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Specialty Center Acquisitions, Port Hueneme, Calif., is the contracting activity.

USNRV SEAFIGHTER

The USNRV SEAFIGHTER has completed the final phases of its scheduled 2009 shipyard period in Port land Oregon and made stll another Panama Canal transit to its home port of Panama City, Florida. This is the third Panama Canal transit that the SEAFIGHTER has conducted while contracted to Great Eastern Group  as the prime for vessel management.
The USNRV SEAFIGHTER has been under contract by Great Eastern Group to NAVSEA since 2007.
